I have been asked many times why I dedicate so much of my time to choirs. It’s just a bunch of people singing songs together, right? Wrong. I sing because it gives me joy. I sing because to be able to express my love for nature, for life, and for the blessings that I have been given is what my heart yearns to do.
For me, I have loved singing my entire life. There have been times when I have been so immersed in nature that I wanted to stand on a mountain top and sing my praise to God for the beauty that he has allowed me to see. There have been moments in my life when my heart was so full of song it could barely be contained, and singing in a choir was my outlet. Why do I sing? Because it’s the least I could do.
